David M. Cashman, DDS
Dr. Cashman LOVES dentistry. Whether it’s a child’s first visit, teenagers needing braces, adults with cosmetic needs, or older patients seeking implants, Dr. Cashman finds joy in addressing patients’ dental concerns. With over 25 years experience, Dr. Cashman has extensive training in all these areas, in addition to Sleep Dentistry, Dental Implants, Oral Surgery, and Laser Dentistry. He is constantly looking ahead, learning ahead, and teaching ahead. Named as one of “America’s Top Dentists” by the Consumer Research Council of America, his devotion to patient care and comfort is second to none. Most importantly, he enjoys working with his team and creating beautiful smile experiences for everyone!
During his spare time, Dr Cashman enjoys traveling to other countries. However, his true home away from home is Hawaii. Not only did he earn his General Practice Residency in Honolulu, HI, but it is there that he also earned his nickname Big Wave Dave. Dr. Cashman decided to join some locals who were surfing some big waves, and he surprised them by being able to hang! Hence, they donned him the title ever since, and that still remains to be his nickname every time he goes back to visit Hawaii. When he’s not traveling, Dr. Cashman likes to spend his time outdoors cross-training. But what he likes most in California is the perfect golfing weather!
Kimberly Rivera, DDS
Dr. Rivera has been in the dental field for over ten years, and there is no doubt that she still loves what she does! She brings all of the latest and greatest knowledge to her patients, keeping up to date with cutting-edge knowledge about every aspect of dentistry. She has pursued her education all along the beautiful coast of California. She grew up in Irvine, and after attending Irvine High School, set off to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to study Biology. She then continued north to the University of California, San Francisco to earn her doctorate of dental surgery degree, and now, she has returned to Orange County to be closer to family. Her favorite part about her job is building long-lasting relationships with her patients. She loves to watch their kids grow up and to hear about changes that are going on in her patients’ lives. Some patients have even become more like an extended family, with whom she has kept in touch no matter their locations.
Being happily married for 8 years now, Dr. Rivera also has a family of her own, with two beautiful sons, ages 3 and 5 years old. “They keep me young, fun, and very busy!” she says. “We are in the throes of learning how to read, ride bikes, and swim.” The boys also just started AYSO soccer this year. She serves as a wonderful role model to both her boys by working on programs such as AIDS Project Los Angeles and MEDICO, with whom she travelled to Honduras for a free mobile medical, eye, and dental clinic in local farming villages. She hopes that one day, she can show her children what a difference we can make!
Samantha Deleon, DDS
Dr. Deleon has been a local to Ladera Ranch since her high school years. She attended Capistrano Valley High School and commuted to UC Irvine, where she completed her undergrad in just three years. She then moved to Los Angeles, where she received her D.D.S at Herman Ostrow’s School of Dentistry at U.S.C. As a dentist, she is passionate about providing her patients with a relaxed and open environment, lifting any anxiety her patients may feel. She is especially fond of working with kids and phobic patients, and believes that connecting with people is the key to leaving a positive impact in their lives. Her goal is to create an amazing patient experience and to provide long-lasting education about life-changing dental habits so that they leave with nothing but smiles. “I believe that our highest calling [as humans] is to serve others. I can do that as a dentist!”
On her spare time, she loves to travel to different countries. On all her adventures, she brings her camera to take plenty of photographs. While travel and photography may be a new interest to her, other forms of art are not. Her alternative to dental school was actually art school! She has always enjoyed singing, sketching, writing and reading, and she does so regularly to keep her creative juices flowing. Recently, she started dabbling in ceramics and started learning the guitar. She also hits her yoga mat once a day to stay healthy, unwind, and relax.
Frank Mogavero, DDS, MS
Dr. Mogavero enjoys nothing more than creating beautiful smiles. He attended UCLA for his Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering as well as his dental degree (D.D.S.). He then went on to Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas for his orthodontic specialty training. Since then, he has also co-authored a textbook chapter about surgical orthodontics and has served as a clinical professor for post doctorate residents in orthodontics at the University of Southern California. Dentistry is undoubtedly his life time passion.
Dr. Mogavero has a teenage daughter, Cambria, and an older stepson, and is engaged to Anna Vincent, who has two sons. He is an avid snowboarder, maintaining a part-time orthodontic practice in Mammoth Lakes. At home in San Clemente, he enjoys riding his mountain bike or walking his dog on the mountain trails in Talega. Dr. Mogavero is also active in the community, and has coached his children’s soccer for 16 years.
Helen – Office Manager
Ladera Ranch Dentistry’s office manager, Helen Cashman, has had over twenty five years of experience in the dental field. She has been with Ladera Ranch Dentistry since it opened in 2003, and not once has she wavered from her dedication to the practice’s patients. She acts as a wonderful bridge between the doctors and dental community, listening to the patients’ wants, needs, and expectations while at the same time considering the doctors’ recommendations. In this way, she creates the best treatment plan for each individual case. With her approachable personality, patients feel comfortable opening up about anything, from dental fears to financial concerns. Her genuine compassion and hard work is undeniable by those who have met her, and she builds long-lasting, personal relationships with everyone she meets.
When she isn’t hard at work, she takes her breaks relaxing in beautiful Hawaii. She loves to scoot around their favorite resort on her white Vespa, which she has named Miss Coconut. In addition, she enjoys reading books on the beach and trying delicious foods at different restaurants. Recently, she started collecting Hawaiian artwork to give her home a bit of that island spirit. But she can’t be away for too long, otherwise she will miss her sweet puppy, Zoe! So next time you stop by the office, don’t forget to say Aaaaaaaa-loha.
